103 Units Listing

The first thing you have to know is that the listing you see here is not exhaustive.  It is just a starter list to give you an idea of the PhysiQademy Units offered, and what things await you at the 103 Level of the PhysiQademy.

Remember, if you do not see your area of interest here, please investigate the other PhysiQademy Units listings, or inquire directly.

All Units are represented in terms of how many sessions they are anticipated to run.  However, please keep in mind that the actual number of sessions can vary, depending on the needs of the athlete.

NU-103 Micro-Nutrient Foundations

Once we get a feel for how we want to eat and we have the basic skills to manipulate our eating on more subtle levels.  Macronutrient (protein, carbohydrate and fat) manipulation offers us quite a benefit.  Yet there is even more to be found when we understand the power of micronutrients.

Bringing in nutritionists, doctors and athletes, we will learn which-micronutrient-does-what, then look at ways to implement and maximize those we prefer with our current eating scheme.  The goal is to turn the “alphabet soup” of these powerful chemicals in a user-friendly methodology that can sustain our health, and our performance.

SU-103 Sports Supplement Theory

Supplements are a multi-billion-dollar per year industry.  There’s got to be something to them right?  But can we believe the hype?  And how do we understand what works, and what doesn’t, much less what we need versus what we don’t?

This unit does not prescribe a supplement plan, but does break supplementation down to it’s theoretical basics.  Putting supplements into categories and tiered-concepts usually helps student athletes develop their own best practices without all the wasted time in guesswork experimentation.

SA-103 Supplementation Strategy Analysis Study

Let’s stop talking theory and start talking structure.  Although you may have determined the best “:general strategy” for supplementation, it still helps to have someone “check your work.”

In these sessions, we will help you research specific products and develop your own, customized supplement regiment.  The learning comes not only from seeing how products get chosen, but the logic of real-time application.

PQ-103 Foundations: Physique Culture and Historical and Social and Personal Impact

The history of Physique Culture can be a very practical place.  Often when we peel back the layers, we discover it is more than just interesting esoterica and stories.  Often there are some interesting solutions and ideas that come from looking at our ancestors.  So, we look back over millennia and track where this physique stuff came from, and what it might tell us a little about what we are doing and of what we are capable.

Engaging theory mixes with factual timelines as we take a look at the past in an effort to reshape our present and plan out our future.  This is your culture; time to learn about more about it.

FO-103 Foundations: Mindfulness Stretching & Focus Practices

It may sound a little spacey, but stretching with a mindful sense of practice makes a tremendous difference in an athlete’s performance.  These sessions borrow from the Dynamic Stretching unit of the 102 Level to create a method and practice to maximize stretching.  Borrowing from yoga to Pilates to sports camp modalities, we create a unique “mash-up” of body work every session.

These sessions often contain their own focusing and mental-tabilizing and relaxing impact as an occasional perk.  Meanwhile, emphasis is placed on your unique needs and focus is developed around which movements which hold the most advancement-essential productivity.

OU-103 Outdoor / Off-Site Group Challenge Sessions

Let’s get creative!  Let’s go play!  Let’s see something totally new!  Often the exploration of “practical exercise” in the outdoors holds a greater benefit than just a “change in scenery.”  Running stadium stairs, jumping on logs and rolling around on the beach can make surprising differences in how we execute these movements in the future.  Likewise, there are inherent benefits to being “out in the world” that enhance progress.

Likewise, unusual indoor spaces hold exciting and unexpected potentials.  Acrobat schools, rock climbing walls and even paintball arenas can create surprising benefits we never before considered.

The focus of these units is to encourage exploration and variety in a student-athlete’s program, as well as establish new practices to integrate in the future.  Besides, it’s a lot of fun!

LI-103 Sports Approach: Specialty Lifts Goal Achievement Sessions

Feeling tough?!  Let’s learn how to move BIG weight in some BIG ways.  Just like you see in the Olympics, there are specialty lifts that can greatly benefit an athlete’s progress.  These efforts are not just for bragging rights, either.  Often, the subtleties required to perform these lifts yields information about what we need to correct and address in other areas of our work.

Specializing in power and olympic-based movements, we set strength goals and seek to gain real-time progress in the lifts we’ve developed.  Learning comes from the repetition of correct work as well as to see what problems inevitably flare up along the way.

AU103 104-105 Group Session Audits

When you are feeling a bit more comfortable with your work, you may grow curious as to what may lie “beyond” your level of physique development.  Our 104 and 105 Level Athletes work in teams, and face challenges on the competitive level.  Their sessions therefore usually delve deep and move fast.  Auditing selective sessions often clarifies and enlightens a novice athlete to ideas and motivations they previously may not have thought up.
